Standard

FAHS AD 2.21  FAHS AD 2.21 NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

1. Due to the sensitivity of the area surrounding AFB HSPT to noise pollution, it has become necessary to introduce the following Noise Abatement Procedures at AFB HSPT.
2. All ACFT operating inside the FAHS CTR are to adhere to the following limitations:
2.1 MNM HGT 500FT AGL.
2.2 MAX Speed 420 KTS.
3. Supersonic ACFT Departures & Operations
3.1 All supersonic ACFT departing low level to the SOUTH (RWY 18) are to cut afterburner no later than 350 KIAS and maintain "full dry" until cruise power can be set.
3.2 ACFT to operate above 1500' AGL within the FAHS CTR.
3.3 Supersonic flights in the FAHS CTR are to be limited to the HRS BTN 0800 to 1300 on normal working days only. If, due to operational RQMNTS, these limitations cannot be met, prior permission must be obtained from the AFB HSPT OPSCO and ATC and the BCP are to be informed.
3.4 Normal HGT restrictions as laid down in the Aviation Safety Manual are to be adhered to.

FAHS AD 2.23  FAHS AD 2.23 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1) All MIL aerodromes are unlicensed therefore this aerodrome may not be nominated as an alternate destination for civilian flights. Diversion and landing in EMERG only.
2) Prior permission required from C SANDF to utilize aerodrome facilities.
3) Airfield unmanned after hours of service. ATS on STBY (30min) will notify applicable ATSU’s should the airfield and airspace be manned with operations outside NML HOD.
4) Utilization of the letdown procedures during MIL operations subject approval. MIL traffic takes precedence.
5) All civilian aircraft routing to FAHS for Eastgate are to contact Eastgate prior to departure obtaining necessary permits. Contact telephone (015) 793 3091.
6) No aircraft allowed to land without ATC on duty.
7) Civilian aircraft to strictly abide to slot times. Weekdays: 0500-1330 Weekends & Public Holidays: 0845-1245.
8) Survey flights, power line inspections, game capturing and crop spraying type operations in CTR and Hoedspruit Special Rules Area to be approved by FAHS ATC EXEC at (015) 799 2451/2251.
9) Pilots to exercise caution due sporadic bird activity on and around vicinity of aerodrome.
10) Pilots to exercise caution due wildlife on the aerodrome.
